The end of the fourth quarter was hard to swallow. Not only did the Patriots lose their first game of the season, I lost a 40 dollar bet to the most arrogant New York Jets fan there is.
Now I'm no football expert. But even the commentators agree that the loss was a combination of a rusty Tom Brady, Wes Welker absent during the game due to a knee injury and some rookie wide receivers that aren't exactly calibrated to Brady's throwing game just yet.
So what can we say about todays loss against the Jets?
Well for one thing, Mark Sanchez is definitely an up and comer all star QB. Something sure to fuel the rivalry between the Patriots and the Jets. It also means the Pats need to circle the 22nd on their calendar when they face the Jets again at Foxborough in October.
What's truly scary is that the Jets have a great defense with some nasty blitz plays that get Tom Brady out of the pocket- something he isn't good at. That's a weakness every other team from here on out will try to exploit.
Brady needs to fine tune his arm and adapt to his rookie teammates better. Bill Belichick has is work cut out for him because we need these players to line up and play right fast.
All in all, the game was crappy but intense none-the-less. What did Patriot nation think of the game? Anyone else down in change because of a bad bet?
